The MSL material is used exclusively by us, allowing us to make 4.7'' thick boards extremely rigid while providing the best feel on the water, so our paddlers have full control of their boards.
Pressure: To create an authentic paddleboarding experience, your board should be inflated to at least 15psi. To achieve this, the board must be constructed correctly, using the appropriate materials and a pump designed to reach high pressures. Most boards have a recommended pressure of 12-15psi, which should be seen as a warning rather than a benefit. The side membranes consist of 3 layers of reinforced Kevlar tape that does not overflow. Practically, this means that as you inflate your board, the air is stored in the chamber and used to make your board compact and rigid, rather than just giving it shape.
Performance: The thickness of the board is very important. Most boards are made using 6'' dropstitch thickness, which is completely wrong. A board with a thickness of 6'' and a length shorter than 12'6'' does not offer any authentic SUP experience. It is basically a wrong construction to create stiffness, which overly sacrifices the performance of the board. Not only does it take longer to inflate your board, but it is practically completely unstable due to the higher center of gravity and the wind that will turn your board depending on its direction. It's not paddleboarding; it's compromise with something unstable. For this reason, all our boards smaller than 12'6'' are 4.7''/120mm thick.
